First Class

Today was our firt class, we worked from 8 am till 12pm and we were nervous and worried because I didn knew how it was going to work out.
At the beginnig we welcome them and separated mothers from children. The kids started to cry because they didnt knewus and we were total strangers for them but in the moment that we started to sing they stopped crying. After that we prepared them some coloring book so they could be distracted and entertained, they were very happy because they thought that the classes were for them and that it was going to be borring but it wasnt like that at all.
Another part of our project was to give them nutritious food and so we gave them cereal and milk.
What impressed me was that some kids wanted to save some of their food for their brothers or sisters and for their parents. That showed to me that they are concious people, even though they know that they dont have a lot of things they dont care about that and want to share what they have with others with no expectations in receiving somethin for exchange.
We have to meditate and realize that if everybody were like these kids the world could be a better place free of selfishness.
We also talked about moral values like friendship and sharing. After that we watched a movie and went to the park.

Meeting the People

This work is for literacy for poor people in Chongon.

We realized that the majority of the people have not even finish high school and they felt that because of that they didnt find any kind of job or they were not hired for one. They show us a lot of interest in learnig and finish their studies but the problem was that they didnt had anyone to take care of their children. After we realized which was the problem we decided to create a daycare for children were we could also work with their children. At the beginnig I was in charge of teaching them moral values but after findind the solution they changed my job and gave me the daycare because that is what I´m studing for.

Sometimes we think that people who has not finish high school are people who doesnt care, are lazy and careless but that is not the reality.

Most of them did not finished school because their parents could not afford anymore their studies and they had to drop school to go to work to help maintaining the family.

I could notice that these people are afraid of rejection and are ashamed of that and dont want to be judged because they did not finish school and do not want to be classified as ignorants or discriminated.

This work begins next week.
